Racing or supporting a 2019 Viking Dash Trail Run - LA on 4.7.19? Come join us on Wednesday nights from 2/13/19 through 4/3/19. We will start at the Old Zoo Parking Lot and cover both the 5K and 10K courses. The option will be there to go out even further for an 8 mile run. Friendly group and since it is an out and back you can do as little or as much as you like. 

Running trails in Griffith Park is the answer to the question, “What do you do from October through February on Wednesday nights when the tri team isn’t doing bricks?” 

Spending time in the dark with the denizens of the trail running world became both part of my annual routine and a change in my regular routine. The post-work rush to the Griffith Park Zoo parking lot and the impromptu change of clothes from business or business casual to running shoes, running shorts, lycra, a favored technical shirt trophy, hat, headlamp and water bottle. Steps later conversations about anything other than work quieted as the hills took their toll on our legs and ability to form audible sentences. Once into the hills the views of both the San Gabriel Valley and the LA Basin and chatty regroups were the payoff for the energy and perspiration exerted. A major benefit was coming into the new year with a healthy amount of running fitness, strong ankles and lower leg strength. 

Headlamps definitely encouraged.
