Event Description

Princess Challenge Ride or Run
Challenge yourself on the bike or run with the Princess Challenge Ride or Princess Challenge Half Marathon. The ride has 75, 66, 42, 30 or 12 mile options with the 75 and 66 mile routes traveling from Folsom's Lake Natoma, around Lake Folsom and into the American River Canyon before winding through the Sierra Nevada foothills back to the start. The run circumnavigates Lake Natoma on sweet trail with eco-friendly (cupless) water stops every few miles. This is a great first (or fun) half marthon and is limited to 500 women, so sign up today. There is no registration or packet pickup on the day of the ride/run, so make arrangements for pickup on Saturday. (Note: This is not a duathlon. Choose to either ride or run).

FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Yes, bring your driver's license photo ID to check in and an electronic copy of your ticket for us to scan.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Lake Natoma's Negro Bar State Park entrance is Greenback Lane, 1/4 mile from Folsom/Auburn Road. Pay at ranger kiosk ($10 all day). Go straight into the main parking lot then right 1/4 mile to the starting line at the beach area (see ranger & event signs). 

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Bring a bike in good working order, repair/patch kit, ID, personal first aid kit (bandaids, sunscreen) water bottles attached to your bike for refilling, and be ready for a great time. No ride-alongs without registration - you will lose your registration privileges. 

Will there be SAG (Stuff And Gear) Support Vans on the course?

Yes. SAG support is provided. Personal Vechicles are NOT ALLOWED on the ride and will create traffic issues. Anyone with personal vehicles following the course will be immediately removed from the event.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

No, tickets are not transferrable or refundable. Rollover to another event is available for $25 processing fee with written request 10 days prior to the event.
