19th Annual Bare Bones 5K
Since the first Bare Bones race, the Salisbury Rowan Runners have tried to give back a quality race to the surrounding running community. We work hard to hold the entry fee down, yet still provide a quality experience on race day. We appreciate all runners and walkers who attend our various race events during the year. Thank you!!!

Top 3 Overall Male & Female as well as top 3 in each age group Male & Female: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65 & Over
Fun run - Top 3 Overall
Got several pairs of old running shoes (or any kind of shoes) just sitting in your closet? Well, bring them to us on race day, and we will give them a new life. We will find them a new home by donating them to Rowan County's needy. It will help them and give you a cleaner closet too!
Ugly Shoe Contest
The ugly shoe contest is back!! Any runner, walker, or volunteer at the race will have an opportunity to enter one of their shoes in the contest as soon as the race is completed. Anyone who presents both shoes will be disqualified! One will do the job. A video of the race finish will be consulted to ensure that no one tries to "inadvertently" submit another shoe. An esteemed committee of runners, local shoe experts and dignitaries will pick five finalists and the Ugly Shoe winner will be announced at the end of the awards. Ralph Baker Shoes will provide a coupon for a new pair of shoes of the winner's choice. The other four finalists will all get a $25 gift certificate.
Finish Line Video - All runners and walkers will have an individual finish line video available online after the race.
Race-Day Registration ($30-5k & $10-Fun Run) & Check-In / Packet Pick Up: 7:00 a.m. - 8:15 a.m.
Race Director - NORTON DORTON - Salisbury's most famous runner will serve again this year as race director. And, Norton will reward a free COSMIC BROWNIE to each finisher!!!
All proceeds benefit Relay of Life, a community based fundraising event of the American Cancer Society.
