Event Description

With an immense amount of frustration, we have been faced with making the decision to postpone this weekend's 2019 Feeding Frenzy Race - Half Marathon & 5K due to the nor'easter that's going to pound our region of Eastern North Carolina. With "feel like" temperatures being in the 30's and 40's; an 80% chance of rain; winds at 25-35mph with gusts over 50mph, we rushed to meet and talk with all organizing parties and City officials. These weather conditions will not allow for runner, volunteer or emergency service personnel to safely (or comfortably) participate and we can't, in good conscience, press forward with holding our race as planned.

A Half Marathon & 5K road race organized by Lunchbox Promises Foundation - a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization committed to combating childhood hunger through community involvement by promoting health, sport and physical exercise. This half marathon is an out-and-back course that runs nearly the entire length of Morehead City, NC; beginning in downtown, the route takes runners along Calico Creek Boardwalk, through residential backroads, into Medical Park and along Bridges Street before cutting through Swinson Park and finally turning around at West Carteret High School. With an early Saturday morning race in November, make a vacation out of your race weekend by enjoying the rest of what North Carolina's Crystal Coast has to offer.
