Event Description
The Cupid Shuffle 5k run/walk is hosted by Alpha Chi Omega sorority of UNC Charlotte for the promotion of awareness, education, & prevention of relationship violence. Proceeds will go to the Safe Alliance Domestic Violence Shelter of Charlotte, NC, and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.

Race packets can be purchased individually for $25.00 or in twos for $40.00 ($10 savings). Snacks and refreshments will be included at no additional cost.
Pick-up your race packet from 10:30am-11:45 am at the Barn at Frank Liske Park on race day. Remember the race STARTS at 12:00 pm so we want everyone to have what they need before the race starts.
Prizes for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd will be awarded in three separate categories:
1. Individual male runners
2. Individual female runners
2. Couple runners (you MUST finish with your partner)
** Please note: couples may consist of a male/female team OR female/female team. Any male/male teams will be disqualified for fairness.
Your INDIVIDUAL race packet ($25.00) will include:
(1) Single admission to run the Cupid Shuffle 5k
(1) Race bib
(1) Giveaway - ONLY if you are one of the first 250 to sign up! After that, we need time to order the prizes so we cannot guarantee that everyone will get one.
Your COUPLE race packet ($40.00) will include:
(2) Single admissions to run the Cupid Shuffle 5k
(2) Race Bibs
(2) Giveaways - ONLY if you sign up by Jan 26th. After Jan. 26th you won't be guaranteed a bag due to deadlines with the company who makes them!
The race will be timed and recorded using official chip timing. On-site registration will be available but not recommended.
All proceeds will be donated to organizations promoting and aiding in the awareness, education, and prevention of domestic violence:
The mission of Safe Alliance is to provide hope and healing to those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. They do this through a variety of life-saving programs and services including emergency shelter, trauma counseling, and court advocacy / legal representation. Safe Alliance assists more than 10,000 people annually in Mecklenburg County, including Lake Norman. They also reach thousands more through their educational and prevention programs as well as institutional advocacy efforts. Safe Alliance is a United Way of the Central Carolinas member agency.

The remaining 15% of the proceeds will be donated to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Their philanthropic mission is helping women who are affected by domestic violence. Efforts include educational programs, donations to programs that aid victims and their children, and service at shelters.
