Event Description

Please join us Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Brown Middle School for the 2nd annual APS Rocks and Runs 5K! The APS Rocks and Runs 5K benefits and kicks off National Teacher Appreciation Week! The race will also feature a fun run for ages 4-11 yrs., special pricing for students, vendors and giveaways! Registration for both the 5K and fun run will include a race bib, commemorative T-shirt and finishers medal. All proceeds will go towards APS teachers during National Teacher Appreciation Week. Teachers and Instructional Paraprofessionals run for FREE. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. The event hashtag is: #APSrocks5K

Attire: APS participants are encouraged to wear school spirit gear, district apparel or the APS Rocks and Runs 5K t-shirt!
 

Location: The race will start and finish at Brown Middle School: 765 Peeples St., SE 30310.

Registration: Race Day check-in is from 6:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. Start time for all participants is 8:30AM. The Fun Run begins at 8:45 a.m. and is only for ages 4-11 yrs., old. 
 

Packet Pickup: Packet pick up will be available at the Alonzo A. Crim Center for Learning and Leadership  (130 Trinity Avenue, SW, Atlanta 30303) on Friday from 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Registration and packet pick up will also be available on race day in the Brown Middle School Gymnasium starting at 6:30am. 
 

Awards:
Top 3 overall Male & Female 
Top 1 Male & Female Finisher in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29 30-39 40-49 50-59 60-69 70 & over

Schedule:

6:30AM – 8:15AM -  5K Runners, Walkers, Fun Runners Check-in and Registration (In the Gym)

8:20AM - Opening Ceremony

8:30AM - 5K Starts

8:45AM -  Fun Run Starts

10:00- 10:45AM - Closing Ceremony & Awards

Notice: Strollers Welcome, but no dogs or pets please. This is a rain or shine event.
