How should I prepare for the Walk-A-Thon?
- Rest. Get as much sleep as possible.
- Eat something light and drink plenty of water the morning of the event.
- Dress in light comfortable clothing. Wear clothing, socks, and shoes that are familiar. Avoid trying out new clothing items or shoes on the event day. If you want to wear something new, try it out a couple of times on training walk/runs before hand. If it’s cold, dress like it’s 20 degrees warmer than the thermometer says.
- Bring personal identification small enough to carry, a water bottle, a towel, and something to eat (e.g. trail mix bar) in case they run out of things you like at the finish line.
