About Toro County Park
The Walk-A-Thon is taking place at Toro County Park in Salinas, located six miles from downtown Salinas, and 13 miles from the Monterey Peninsula. The Walkathon will cover three miles through a 4,756 acre scenic park that includes an equestrian staging area and riding trails, two softball fields, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, mountain biking, volleyball courts, and over 20 miles of hiking trails.
Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 for the Agribusiness Education Foundation (AEF), a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable foundation created to provide financial assistance to advance the educational goals of UnitedAg members, their employees, and employee’s dependents.

How should I prepare for the Walk-A-Thon?
- Rest. Get as much sleep as possible.
- Eat something light and drink plenty of water the morning of the event.
- Dress in light comfortable clothing. Wear clothing, socks, and shoes that are familiar. Avoid trying out new clothing items or shoes on the event day. If you want to wear something new, try it out a couple of times on training walk/runs before hand. If it’s cold, dress like it’s 20 degrees warmer than the thermometer says.
- Bring personal identification small enough to carry, a water bottle, a towel, and something to eat (e.g. trail mix bar) in case they run out of things you like at the finish line.
