Event Description
Join us for this unique trail run experience as the 5K and 1 Mile course will immerse participants in 16 acres of gorgeous sunflowers! Runners, joggers and walkers will follow the dirt trails through the sunflower field to the finish line!
Race Times:
5K: 8:00am
1 Mile run/walk: 8:30am.
Packet pickup and same day registration will begin at 7am.

Medals & prizes for 5K age-category winners and best "Sunflower Themed" participants will be awarded following the races.
Swag:
All participants will receive an original Sunflower Run Finisher t-shirt, Sunflower Run Finisher medal, free 1-day admission to the Kansas Maze sunflower festival for participant and guest and a gift bag of coupons from generous local businesses. ** T-shirts & medals not guaranteed if registered after Aug 1. **
Food:
Pancakes will be served following the races!
Medals & Awards:
Prizes will be awarded in the 5K race to the top 2 finishers in each category. Categories for both male/female are: 10 & under, 11-17, 18-35, 36-50, 51-65. 65+
All registrants in both the 5K and the 1 Mile will receive a customized finisher medal.
Must pick up in person. Medals will not be mailed.
Prizes will also be given for the best dressed "Sunflower themed" participants! Start collecting your best Sunflower Swag and let's have some fun!
Spectators:
Spectators will not be allowed on the course or in the sunflower field during either race. Water stations will be available. Views of the runners will be available from our lookout bridge or other platforms. Binoculars recommended if you want to view runners across the field.
Course map:
Maps will be available at packet pick-up.
Conditions:
This trail course is IN an actual sunflower field. Pathways will be cut out and runners will be expected to stay on the pathways. Violators will be eliminated from the race.
All attempts will be made to keep the trails as safe as possible but uneven ground should be expected. Please wear appropriate shoes and attire.
*Pollinating bees will be present! It is a Sunflower field!!*
Race Day Timing:
Race day organizing, timing and results for the 5K Trail Run will be provided by the Inman High School Cross Country team and coaches. We appreciate their support!
The 1 Mile Trail fun run will not be officially timed.
** Kansas Maze reserves the right to cancel or change the date of this event at their discretion based on inclement weather or conditions. All efforts will be made to honor this date but safety of our guests is our #1 priority.
* In case of inclement weather/conditions OR if sunflower blooms are delayed, the races will instead take place the following Saturday, Sept 7th.
