The Frederick Steeplechasers have been bringing the Market Street Mile to Frederick since 1982. This family-friendly race leads you down Market Street into the heart of historic downtown Frederick. Our race kicks off Celebrate Frederick's "In The Street" celebration.
Net proceeds benefit local children's causes -- details to be supplied soon.
One mile point to point race on Market Street, starting at the Frederick YMCA and ending at Carroll Creek Linear Park.
Registrants may choose from five events: Women's Mile, Men's Mile, Youth Mile, Masters Mile, Fun Mile, Family Mile. Note that Fun Mile and Family Mile are non-competitive and untimed.
We give the option to pay a low family rate for up to 5 members of a family registering for the untimed Family Mile. When registering the family, they all need to be in the same "team" so that the family is grouped together. When you register the first family member, you'll be given the opportunity to create the team. Give the team a fun name, or just use your family name. When you register additional family members, you'll need to add them to the team you created. Up to 4 additional members members are charged $0 when registered this way.
- Runners may optionally compete on a team.
- Team categories are Women, Men, Masters, and Youth. All members of a team must register online and run in the same heat. See https://www.frederickmarketstreetmile.com/therace for details
This race is part of the Frederick Steeplechasers Grand Prix Series and the Maryland RRCA Grand Prix Series.
Shirts are not included in the registration fee, but may be purchased separately during the online registration process. Register and order your shirt early as supplies may be limited.
