Event Description
Join us for Bike Benzie’s 12th annual Up North Road and Gravel Event! It’s a fun event organized by the Benzie Sunrise Rotary Club and hosted by Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa in Thompsonville, Michigan.
For our road riders we are offering a new 15-mile route, along with our 30- and 45-mile routes and the metric century—all routes showcasing the stunning beauty of northern Michigan. For our more adventurous riders we are excited to offer a new gravel race with a short course of 20 miles or a long course of 36 miles. Benzie and Manistee Counties have some great gravel roads, and these courses will challenge both new and experienced gravel riders. This event is a day to celebrate bikes, raise money for our community, and promote healthy lifestyles in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
In addition to the best bike course in the state, we offer rest stops with homemade local baked goods, refreshments, and enthusiastic volunteers to cheer you on. After the race, stick around at Crystal Mountain to enjoy our celebration, including barbeque, local craft beer and mead, free showers, live music and much more!
The primary mission of the Benzie Sunrise Rotary Club is to improve the lives and futures of the youth of Benzie County. We have a strong partnership with the Benzie County Central Schools and the proceeds from this ride fund the many programs and activities that our partnership is built on for the elementary, middle, and high schools.
