Event Description

Join us on Saturday, April 27, 2019 for the 4th Annual Cream City 5K to raise awareness and support organ, eye, and tissue donation!  Proceeds from this family friendly event will be donated to the Versiti Organ and Tissue, as well as other organizations that support organ, tissue & eye donation to help save and improve lives.  We welcome runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to celebrate the gift of life with us by participating in either the 5K run, the 3K walk or the 0.4K Kellan's Fun Run for Kids for those 10 and under.  

When you join us at the Cream City 5K, not only are you supporting a cause that saves lives and celebrating Donate Life Month, you get the best bang for your buck!  Here's what we offer:

• Great swag for all participants, including a gender specific tech t-shirt, cinch sack race bag, water bottle, cooling towel and sunglasses

• Fantastic post-race food

• Beautiful loop course in a unique location

• Mascotapallooza!  Dottie Donor Dot, Roscoe from the Admirals and the Famous Brewers Racing Sausages will be at the event

• Three different events so that there's something for everyone of all ages and abilities

Event Schedule:

7:30-9:00am:  Race day registration and packet pickup

9:15am:  0.4K (0.25 Mile) Kid's Fun Run

9:30am:  5K Run

9:40am:  3K Walk

10:30am:  Awards Presentation for Top 3 Women and Men and 1st Place Female and Male Finishers.  Age Group Awards will be available for pickup at the Green Cream City 5K Tent 

Course:

The 5K run will be chip timed on a certified course in Greenfield Park.  The loop course will start and end near the park pavilion and will utilize the Oak Leaf Trail and the Root River Parkway.  The 3K walk will be on the portion of the 5K course that is in Greenfield Park.  Kellan's Fun Run for Kids will start and finish at the 5K start and finish.

PLEASE NOTE:  ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT ON APRIL 24!  YOU MAY STILL REGISTER AT THE PACKET PICKUP AT PERFORMANCE RUNNING OUTFITTERS ON APRIL 25 AND 26 OR AT THE EVENT ON APRIL 27.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION WILL END PROMPTLY AT 9:00AM!  

What’s Included: Gender Specific Technical Race T-Shirt, Cinch Sack Race Bag, Water Bottle, Cooling Towel, Sunglasses, Race Results from a Chip Timed Certified Course for the 5K, Fantastic Post Race Food and Drink. 

*Please note that T-shirts are not guaranteed to be available for pickup for those registering on race day or at packet pickup.  They will, however, be available for pickup at a later date.

Kellan's Fun Run for Kids is named in honor of Kellan Sorenson who passed away in December of 2015.  Kellan's parents made the decision to donate his organs to help children who were in need of a live saving transplant.

NEW THIS YEAR:

Participating in the Cream City 5K is way more fun when you are part of a team!  This year all team captains of teams or groups with 10 or more participants will get a bonus shirt!  Bonus shirts will be available at pre-race packet pickup and on race day.

VIRTUAL CREAM CITY 5K!

Want to show your support of organ, tissue and eye donation and be a part of the Cream City 5K, but can't join us on April 27th?  In 2019 we will be offering a virtual 5K!  Run your 5K wherever and whenever and we will mail your race bib and race shirt on April 29th.

Parking

Free parking is available at Greenfield Park.  Please enter the park from the 124th St entrance.  We advise you to arrive early!  Last year the lots at Greenfield Park filled by 9:00!  If you arrive and the lots are full, there is plenty of parking available on 124th St.

Packet pickup will also be available at the race on Saturday, April 27 from 7:30-9:00am.  Race day packet pickup will close promptly at 9:00am!

The Cream City 5K will happen rain or shine!

We love dogs, but due to the narrowness of the path in some portions of Greenfield Park no dogs are allowed at the Cream City 5K.  Please leave your dog at home!
