Be a part of the third annual Holiday Lights Hunger Run/Walk! Take steps against hunger through Making Spirits Bright holiday lights show one week prior to its public grand opening to car traffic. The course offers a sneak peek of Making Spirits Bright in Evergreen Park. Stop by "Santa's Workshop" tent for family-friendly activities next to the Quarryview Center and then join us for the after party and 5K run award ceremony down the road at 3 Sheeps Brewing! 

All money raised by this event goes to Sheboygan County Food Bank.  In 2017 and 2018 combined, nearly $40,000 has been raised!

Did you know that on any given day, 11,000 of our neighbors in Sheboygan County struggle with hunger? SCFB purchases, accepts and safely stores food locally at its 10,000-square foot warehouse. SCFB then work swiftly to deliver food to 14 partner agencies, at no cost, to ensure that 3,000 families don't go hungry. Learn more here.

Shuttle Information

• 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM
• Shuttle buses run a continuous loop from 3 Sheeps and off-site parking locatitons (TBD)
• Last shuttle from Quarryview leaves promptly at 6:30 PM.

Course 

• The course takes place on Evergreen Park’s paved drive-thru loop through the Making Spirits Bright holiday lights and music show.
• Evergreen is CLOSED to all vehicles.
• Evergreen is accessed from the Quarryview Center parking lot using a lit path under Calumet Dr.
• Evergreen does not permit dogs into the park.
• 5K runners will complete almost three laps of the drive-through loop and 1 mile walkers will complete almost one lap. Stay tuned for an official course map!

Awards and Results:

The top three male and top three female 5K finishers will each receive a special ornament award in the following age categories: 13-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. The top overall male and female 5K finishers will each receive a one-of-a-kind special ornament award and a Sheboygan County Food Bank cloth bag full of goodies. Please note that if you think you have received a 5K run award, the award ceremony begins at 5:30 pm at 3 Sheeps Brewing taproom (1837 North Ave.). All official results will be posted on paper at 3 Sheeps and searchable online results (see below). Results will also be instantly emailed to participants when they cross the finish line.

FAQ

What will I receive for participating?

Highlights:

• Participants 13 and older will receive a long sleeve shirt and race bib. 
• The first 500 participants who register will be given special goodie bags full of local goodies.
• All participants get an exclusive, on-foot “sneak peek” of Making Spirits Bright in Evergreen Park one week prior to its public grand opening!

New this year:

• 5K runners will be timed by Absolute Race Timing, a professional service race timing company, that will provide chip timing, race clocks, professional-looking start and finish lines, results kiosks, big screen scrolling results in real time, and searchable online results. (Walkers will not be chip timed.)
• Top three 5K finishers in each age and gender category (see below: Awards) will receive a special ornament award.
• Free family-friendly activities and complimentary refreshments will be available in our Santa's Workshop tent!

Will registration be available on the day of the event?

Day-of registration will be available this year! Please stay tuned for more information. 

What do I need to bring?

• To receive your packet (and goodie bag), please bring your photo ID. If you wish to pick up someone else's packet, please bring a copy, or photo, of his/her ID, or his/her registration email confirmation, to one of the packet pick up times listed above. Please wear your race bib - this will be your "ticket" to enter Evergreen Park.
• If you are running the 5K, please watch the weather and wear appropriate clothing for cooler temperatures. Click here to check out this helpful tool to figure out the best clothing and gear to wear based on the day's conditions. If you are walking, please consider keeping warm by bundling up in layers, including, hats, mittens, and thick socks.
• Do you have a Christmas light bulb necklace, an ugly sweater, or other fun holiday-themed accessories or costumes? We would love to see you dressed up!

Are dog(s) allowed on the course?

Evergreen Park does not permit our four-legged friends into the park.

Am I able bring a stroller on the course?

Yes, this a family-friendly event. Strollers are permitted for either the 5K run or 1 mile walk waves. Please be advised of your surroundings for your, your little one's, and other participants' safety. If you are running the 5K, we ask that you please be extra cautious and stay to the right. Please be aware that shuttle services from offsite parking to and from the event will be on school buses.

Group/Team registration discount with 10+ members: Enjoy a $5 discount when you sign up as a Group/Team! For a minimum of 10 registrants, all registrants will receive $5 off. Please note that registrants 1-9 will pay the normal event fee until 10 members have registered. Once the 10th member has registered, registrants 1-9 will be refunded $5. Refunds are processed about an hour after the threshold is met. However, it may take a few days for banks to process/release. Children age 12 and under register for FREE and must use the normal registration process (not Group/Team) to register. 

Special pricing for children: Children age 12 and under register for FREE (goodie bag and shirt not included) and will have the opportunity to purchase a shirt upon registration (available sizes include: Youth Small-Youth Extra Large, Adult Small-Adult 3XL). A limited quantity of shirts will also be available for purchase the day of the event while supplies last.
