Event Description

BRAN 39 “A Tale of Two Trails” will begin the week long ride in Chadron, Nebraska on June 2, 2019. Riders will check in on Saturday June 1st. The route will follow a Northern Route along Hwy 20 and options to ride the adjecent Cowboy Trail. The other overnight host towns include Gordon, Cody, Ainsworth, Atkinson, Neligh, Clarkson and Seward. The ride will end in Fremont, Nebraska on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Riders have the option of parking a vehicle during the week of the ride in Fremont and taking a bus from Fremont to Chadron on Saturday, June 1, 2019 for an extra fee.

We will again offer a 3, 4 or 7 day ride registration. The three day ride will be from Atkinson to Fremont. Riders opting for the four day ride will start in Chadron and ride to Atkinson. Additional transportation back to Fremont or to Atkinson will not be provided.

The route is beautiful and scenic through parts of the Sandhills along Hwy 20 and options from Valentine to Battle Creek to ride the Cowboy Trail.

The ride is fully supported with SAG stops approximately every 10 to 15 miles with water and treats (included in your entrance fee), roving SAGs driving the route to help/pick you up in situations where riders cannot continue due to mechanical or personal reasons, free showers, bicycle mechanic support, contracted sleeping service (tents and shuttle service), free coffee, medical staff, weather monitoring and evacuation assistance, campground director for rider services, and host communities who compete to provide the best experiences for our riders by feeding and providing experiences not found in any other ride in the state.

BRAN is a bicycle ride designed for recreational riders who want a family atmosphere of camaraderie and community.  We limit our numbers to no more than 600 and you will know most other participants by the end of the week, if not by name, at least by face and/or bike.

BRAN, Inc. is a nonprofit organization and the ride is run completely by on-the-route volunteers. Proceeds from the ride provide scholarships to the towns who host us.  Each community will receive a scholarship for a high school senior to attend a Nebraska trade school, college or university. The host town voted as the "Best Host Town" will receive an additional scholarship. Give back and pay it forward by choosing to ride BRAN 39 in June 2019!
