Event Description

You are invited to the 1st Soaring into Summer 5K at Sam Michael's Park in conjunction with the ribbon cutting of the new AMP.  

Running the 5k cross country course at Sam Michael's Park is fun and fast enough to be motivating to the competitive runner and comfortable enough for the new runner to enjoy the varying terrain. Runner and Walkers will have a blast.  Rolling hills, trails and fields make up the 3.1 mile long course.  During and after the race there will be music featuring 5 bands and refreshments at the new AMP. 

Enjoy remote control airplane exhibitions brought to us by The Hobbies Shop, kite building, paper airplane folding, a hot air balloon from Tailwinds Over Frederick, concessions, music on the new Amphitheater stage, crafters & vendors, beer garden, and so much more fun for the WHOLE FAMILY!

The headlining act, Waterloo Revival will take the stage at 6:00pm!

Additional entertainment will be provided by Morgan White, Jefferson High School Steel Drum Band and more!

Special 2019 SOAR headbands will be given to the first 150 race registrants.  

All participant will also receive a finishers medal.

We will be using the proceeds to buy a mobile AED machine to have at all of our races and events. 

This is a self timed event.  Wear your watch or pay attention at the timing clock at the finish line.  No results will be posted.
