Event Description
The inaugural East End 1K is the running and drinking event you don't want to miss! In a world full of opportunities to overachieve and push everything to the limit, Sigma Running Club is here to remind you to not overdo it! Plus, all proceeds will be donated to BakerRipley, an organization that makes a lot of difference in the East End.
The East End 1K will begin at Sigma Brewing Company and end at Moon Tower Inn. Registration gets you a beer at Sigma and at Moon Tower Inn and if you register before May 13, you are guaranteed a custom shirt.
At the finish line we'll have prizes and giveaways! There will also be some downright delicious food for purchase from the Moon Tower Inn kitchen.
FAQs
- Is there a packet pick-up or do I just show up day of the race?
- Just show up to Sigma Brewing at least half an hour before the event begins!
- Where do we start? Where do we park?
- Sigma Brewing! There is street parking in the area and parking next to the brewery. Make sure to take all valuables out of your vehicle! We also encourage participants to have a designated driver or use a ride share app - safety first!
- Where does the race finish? Is there transportation back to Sigma Brewing?
- The finish line is at Moon Tower Inn. We will not provide transportation back to Sigma, but its an easy jog, uber ride, walk, roller blade, skip away!
- Are dogs welcome?
- Yes we love puppers!
- Are kids welcome?
- We love kids too, but participants need to be 21 and up given the nature of the event.
- Is this going to be a timed race?
- The race will not be timed. We will time how long it takes you to chug a beer if you ask nicely.
- Is there going to be a hard start time or can I show up late and still join in the fun?
- The course will be posted ahead of time and will be well marked, so you're welcome to follow the route if you're late. We'll have swag at the finish line at Moon Tower Inn!
- Will there be water stations?
- Given the short distance of the event, we will not provide water along the route. We will have bottled water at the finish.
- Is the path/route going to be marked so that I don’t get lost?
- Sure will!
- Can I have a beer before the race starts?
- We encourage it!
- Are there any road hazards I should concern myself with?
- The start line will be across the street from Sigma Brewing and to get there, you have to cross the light rail line. PLEASE be smart and safe about crossing.
