Event Description

Break out those old school running clothes, afro wigs, leisure suits, and tube socks for the 2019 Trak Shak Retro Run!! You can expect a lot of the same from this infamous race! A nice, flat course through the streets of Homewood, starting and finishing on 18th Street, right in front of our flagship store. Afterwards, enjoy music from DJ Karen, cold beverages from Birmingham Coca-Cola and Birmingham Budweiser, and get great deals on dinner from our local restaurants including Oak Hill Bar & Grill and Momma Goldberg's with the coupons they have donated for the packets! Sit, eat, drink and enjoy time with fellow runners while we announce the awards, hand out a number of door prizes and name our RETRO COSTUME OF THE RACE! Top Male & Female Overall Finishers will get $100, AND the BEST RETRO COSTUME will get $100. 

Age Groups - 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over (Each Age Group winner will choose from a collection of Goodr sunglasses for you award). We're working on awards for 2nd and 3rd place age group. 

As mentioned before, Overall Male & Female will receive $100 CASH. Top Male & Female Masters (40 & Over) will receive $50 CASH. 

Race Day Schedule: 

4:00 PM - Race Day Registration Opens (this is when you can start picking up your packets as well)

7:00 PM - Race Start (we'll walk up the hill on 18th all together)

6:00 - 9:00 PM - Music from DJ Karen, beverages from Birmingham Coca Cola and Birmingham Budweiser will be available.
