THE CAUSE
In 2004 Dr. Bill Steers founded the Charlottesville Men’s Four Miler and over the past decade the race has raised thousands of valuable dollars for men’s health initiatives and ground breaking cancer research at UVA. Sadly, in April of 2015 the Urology community and University of Virginia mourned the loss of this great man. The purpose of this race is to raise awareness and funds for Prostate cancer research at UVA and to continue Dr. Bill Steers vision and dedication to this race. The connection between lifestyle, physical activity and men’s health is very clear. Improved physical activity will reduce the likelihood of prostate cancer, cardiovascular disease, erectile dysfunction and stroke, resulting in men living longer, healthier lives.
