Event Description
Purpose:
The purpose is to get Hispanic families to begin a healthy lifestyle and to incorporate physical activity such as walking and running to their daily routines. Physical activity along with proper diet will reduce the weight and thereby reducing the chronic diseases.
Where:
This run/walk starts and finishes at Roosevelt Park with the course taking participants along Grandville Ave and into the surrounding Roosevelt Park neighborhood. The run/walk starts at 9:00 am.
Why:
A Health and Wellness promotion with focus on the Hispanic community that has higher instances of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and strokes. The reason for highest amount of chronic diseases in the Hispanic community has been attributed to poor diets and lack of physical activity.
Race Shirts
Register by August 7, 2022 at midnight to guarantee your race shirt. Participants that register on August 8th are not guaranteed a shirt. Shirts are not guaranteed for racers that are not present for the event.

Group Pricing Available if you have a team or a group of 4 or more people sign up as a group/team. Once the 4th person of your group registers all other group members will receive a 20% discount. Must register as a group or team.
Please Note
• Walking the course is allowed, but participants must complete the route within 90 minutes.
• Weather conditions vary from year to year, so dress appropriately.
• In case of severe weather, event directors reserve the right to cancel without refund.
COVID 19 PROTOCOL
The State of Michigan has lifted all outdoor COVID restrictions. COVID testing and vaccination policies could change if mandated by the government. Mask use is highly recommended by everyone while indoors at packet pick-up whether you have been vaccinated or not, per CDC recommendations.
If there are changes due to COVID, we will inform you via email and update this section accordingly.
