Event Description

Join us for a fun run in support of the APMA Educational Foundation. APMA will host its ninth Team APMA 5K Run/Walk at the APMA 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting (The National) on Saturday, July 13, at 6 a.m.

Registration fee: $20 for podiatric medical students and podiatric medical residents; $25 for all others.

Runners and walkers will receive a performance T-shirt. Shirt sizes will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

This event is open to all attendees registered for The National. Family members of registrants, exhibitors, and the public are welcome to participate.

The race location is northeast of the Utah State Capitol, approximately two miles from the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek, one of APMA's host hotels.

Bus transportation will be available from the Marriott for APMA meeting registrants only.

Race Packet Pick-Up Instructions

APMA Meeting Registrants
APMA meeting registrants who have pre-registered for the race can pick up their packet at the APMA Educational Foundation booth (#826) during exhibit hall hours. On-site registration is also available for APMA meeting registrants at the APMA booth until Friday.

Non-Meeting Registrants
To pick up your packet, you must first check in at the APMA Exhibitor Registration Desk on the lower level of the Salt Palace Convention Center. You will receive a badge that will allow you to access the exhibit hall. Security personnel will not allow you to enter the hall if you do not have a badge. Pick up your race number at the APMA Educational Foundation booth (#826) during exhibit hall hours as follows:

  • Thursday, July 11, 9:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

  • Friday, July 12, 9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

    NOTE: Participants are encouraged to pick up their race packets on Friday between 1–5 p.m. to avoid long lines.

    Event Day Instructions

    No Race Day Packet Pick-Up
    Only bib numbers will be distributed the morning of race day (i.e., no T-shirts or goody bags). If you are unable to pick up your race packet before Saturday's event, you will have the opportunity to retrieve your goody bag after the race in the exhibit hall. The exhibit hall will be open 9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

    No Bag Check
    Please note that there is no bag check. Leave your valuables in the car or take what you want with you.     

    Start/End Finish Line
    This event is a fun run. All runners will start at the same time. The 5K course starts and finishes northeast of the Utah State Capitol. The course is an out and back route with a turnaround at 11th Avenue.      

    Parking will be available east of the State Capitol. There are many parking spaces available.

    The Team APMA 5K Run/Walk is a charity event. Please note we do not offer refunds. If you are unable to join us, please transfer your ticket to another athlete.

    Proceeds from the event support the APMA Educational Foundation Student Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are awarded annually to eligible podiatric medical students in their third or fourth year from the nine accredited podiatric medical colleges. The APMA Educational Foundation has awarded more than $4 million in scholarships to more than 2,800 students since 2005.
