Event Description
Event proceeds to benefit Idyllwild School's K-8 Physical Education Program
With more than 35 years of presenting this race, the Idyllwild Race Committee (501c3) has donated a total of more than $70,000 to the Idyllwild School athletic and physical education program, enabling the school to purchase a scoreboard, indoor climbing wall, PE equipment, team uniforms, coaching fees, and a portable sound system. The school has even been able to equip an entire fitness lab for students funded entirely from the proceeds of the race. THANK YOU to all participants that helped make this all possible!

Registration and Packet Pickup
Register or pick up your race packet including t-shirt and bib number at the Totem Pole Monument in the Idyllwild Town Center.
Friday evening, August 23, from 5 pm to 6:30 pm
Saturday, August 24 (race morning) from 6:15 am to 7 am

5K or 10K Adult Registration: $32 (or $25 without tee shirt)
Both Races 5K & 10K Registration: $38
Volkslauf Team $100 (5 racers must finish 5K together in matching shirts) – Please use printable registration to enter

Course Info
Both courses begin at the town center and follow scenic routes through some of Idyllwild's prettiest streets, including an especially picturesque passage through the county campground. See course routes and elevation profiles.
Awards and Prizes
The top male and female finishers overall in the 5K & 10K runs will receive special awards and custom medallions, as will the top male and female competitors in the fitness walk.
Awards will be given to the top 3 Male & top 3 Female runners in each age group for the runs, and for the top 5 overall M & F in the 5K walk.
All kids in the half-mile fun run will receive an award at the finish line.
5K Divisions (run only): 9 & under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+
Volkslauf Team 5K (5 racers must finish together in matching shirts):
The first team across wins $100 towards the school or charity of their predesignated choice and a $100 Big 5 certificate.
The first place all woman team wins another $100 and another $100 Big 5 certificate.
10K Divisions (run only): 15 & under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 , 75-79, and 80+
Tee-Shirts
Now an Idyllwild tradition, this year's edition will include another nature and wildlife theme on a high quality long-sleeved T-shirt.

Pancake/Fruit/Yogurt/Granola Fundraiser Breakfast
Also available on race day: Our fundraiser pancake breakfast (plus other breakfast items) presented by the Idyllwild PTA.
Time: from 8 AM to 10:30 AM.
Where: Outside Town Hall
Cost: $8 for adults and $5 for children under age 12.
Proceeds benefit the Idyllwild School PTA program.
Breakfast tickets may be purchased day-of-race or at the packet pick-up and registration Friday night before the race.
