This fully off road tri is the second of two winter offroad races at the Hensley off road park, the first one is in November. This race will be divided into 3 waves: Advanced, Intermediate and Beginner. Your level will be based off of your MOUNTAIN BIKE skills as to avoid dangerous situations with faster/advanced riders overtaking slower riders on single track areas. Advanced riders will begin their swim/bike waves first. Intermediate riders will begin their swim/bike once the Advanced riders have completed their first loop so that no passing is necessary. Beginner riders will begin their swim/bike once the Intermediate riders have finished their first loop. You should enter your level of race based on your mountain biking skill, regardless of how fast or slow your swim and run may be.
The swim will be held in beautiful Lake Hensley. Given the time of year, it will be chilly and full wet suits are recommended. 500 yards approximately.
After which, you will transition to your mountain bike and hit the Buck Ridge Trail. This trail is typically rated "beginner/intermediate" in many apps. There are a good mix of climbs and a minorly technical obstacles. The beginners will find this to be a sufficient challenge, and are welcome to unclip and walk over technical sections if needed, whereas the advanced riders will find this a fast and fun off road time trial. This is a two loop course of approximately 13 miles in total.
The run is a gently undulating trail course, approximately 3 miles.
Course distances and elevation charts will be posted once finalized.
