Event Description
This annual event began in 2009, and rallies our wonderful community together to bring together food and monetary donations for the Dawson County Food Bank. This is a great, family-friendly event, that promotes health AND the spirit of giving.
We offer prizes for top male and female finishers for the 5k and 10k, shirts for the 5k and 10k registrants, and goodies for all of our 1k Fun Run finishers. If you stick around right after the finish of the 10k, you will be entered to win one of several fun, festive door prizes, so you don't have to be the fastest runner in order to walk away with a treat!
Both the 5k and the 10k will begin at 9:00 am this year; this is not a chip-timed event, BUT we will have a digital clock displayed so you can keep track of your time!
The cost to enter the 5k is $25; the cost to enter the 10k is $30. The cost covers entry AND a long-sleeved shirt. The 1k Fun Run is FREE with donated items. We ask that ALL participants bring at least 3 non-perishable food items OR new, unused toiletries that can be donated to the Dawson County Food Bank (they provide so much more than just food to those in need).
The 1k Fun Run will begin at 10:30 am; parents, feel free to join your kiddos in this event! The more, the merrier!
Join us on Thanksgiving morning, friends: walk, trot, or sprint; we don't mind what you do. Let's have a little fun, enjoy the tradition, and feel good about helping our community in the process!
Both the 5k and 10k will begin at the EPEC, and will take you through the underpass on Douglas St to Barry St, will turn to the right on Taylor, and left on Snyder to Makoshika State Park. There will be a turnaround marker for the 5k and 10k runners at each respective spot. The course will have water stops at the 5k turn around point and the 10k turn around point, as well as volunteers; race organizers will be monitoring the race course, as well, cheering our Turkey Trotters on.
The 1k Fun Run starts at the EPEC, follows Merrill Ave toward Towne St, where fun runners will turn around and head back to the EPEC.

MINORS UNDER 18 MUST HAVE PARENT/GUARDIAN SIGNATURE ON WAIVER
WE WILL OPEN UP SAME-DAY REGISTRATION AT 8:00 am; WE WILL NOT REGISTER ANY MORE PARTICIPANTS AFTER 8:45 am.
We will have water stops along the course, at the start, and at the finish. We will also have warm drinks (coffee, cider and hot chocolate mix) to keep you toasty. Our local grocers will provide fresh bananas and bagels for you to enjoy post-run!
T-SHIRTS: ONLY THOSE WHO PRE-REGISTER ON ACTIVE.COM WILL BE GUARANTEED THE CORRECT T-SHIRT SIZE. SHIRTS MAY BE LIMITED ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT FOR THOSE WHO REGISTER THANKSGIVING MORNING.
