Save the date for this awesome first-time event, the Run for the Donuts. Some people run for the roses, some for their health, we like to run with something sweet on our mind. That's why we dreamed up this little short and sweet race, with a donut stop where the water stop should be (well, okay, it's Florida, we will have water, too!) .We are putting the finishing touches on our location at Tradition in Port St. Lucie, but you can be sure this will be a family-friendly, delicious treat of a race, timed by the one and only Mike Melton of MCM Timing and brought to you by your friends at the Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County, in support of early childhood education.
It's only two miles, so you can walk or run the distance and you will get the chance to eat donuts at the rest stop, then finish the race and burn off those yummy sugar calories! For every donut you consume (up to 3) you will get 20 seconds off your final time, so this may be a real test of your donut skills, as well as your fancy footwork. The race is limited to the first 500 entries though, so sign up early and enjoy deep earlybird discounts on a racing event, you DO-NUT want to miss!
