Event Description

New for 2020 - TWO Marathon Course!

Looking for a flat, fast marathon?  The Trailbreaker is now offering a second course option!  You can run our alternate certified, Boston qualifying course on a paved trail that is flat and fast.  Want a little more challenge?  Then run the original certified Trailbreaker course that goes to the tower at Lapham Peak on the rugged, single track, Ice Age Trail!  You decide which course you want to tackle!

The Trailbreaker is Waukesha's home grown running event and has been held annually since 1993. This Waukesha tradition initially consisted of a Marathon, Half-Marathon, and 5K Run/Walk. All three of these events are certified by the USATF and may provide qualifying credentials for other races. We are excited to once again offer a 10K event at the Trailbreaker. The Trailbreaker originally was the brainchild of three running colleagues (amigos). Since 2009, the Park Foundation of Waukesha, Inc. (PFW Inc.), has organized and hosted this annual event as a fundraiser for the enhancement of city parks, trails, recreation programs and the urban forest.

Over $200,000 has been generated and re-invested with the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department to "make Waukesha a better place to live, work and play". The PFW Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization that utilizes funds raised to promote "Community Quality of Life". All staff are unpaid volunteers. Please consider making a donation!

This event provides distances for all runners! Come join the fun and support our local parks and community!

The Lapham Peak Marathon course covers approximately 6 miles of city streets and sidewalks, 15 miles of paved trails (including the Fox River Trail & Glacial Drumlin Trail) and 5 miles of the Ice Age Trail.  Miles 11 - 15 are extremely rugged. Except for the Ice Age Trail, the trail is subject to only gentle grades. Marathon turn-around is the top of the 40' Lapham Peak Tower, the highest point in Waukesha County, with spectacular views of the surrounding lake country.

The Glacial Drumlin Trail Marathon course covers approximately 6 miles of city streets and sidewalks, 20 miles of paved trails (including the Fox River Trail & Glacial Drumlin Trail) and this course is super flat making it perfect for a PR!

Please note, we will not be able to exchange shirt sizes and shirts will not be sold. Shirts are unisex and tend to run large.
