Event Description
Please join us for the inaugural Book Character Boogie 5K/1 Mile Fun Run/Walk to benefit programs and services for children and families of Tallatoona CAP, Inc. The race will be held on Saturday, September 21 at Ridge Ferry Park in Rome, GA. Dress up as your favorite book character! There will be a costume contest with prizes awarded!
Note: Pre-Registration ends at 11:00pm, Sun., Sept. 15th.
Day-of-race registration for the 5K run will be $35.00.
Day-of-race registration for the 1Mi. run will be $30.00.
BOTH events come with an awesome T-shirt, so please pre-register to guarantee your T-Shirt. All runners must complete the attached waiver to participate in the 5K/1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.
The course is relatively flat and will be professionally chip-timed by Wire2Wire Running!

Event details and schedule
Please join us as we celebrate children and families in Northwest Georgia! Proceeds will allow us to further enhance our service programs, such as Head Start, Early Head Start, Weatherization, Pathways to Empowerment and serve additional children and families in the Northwest Georgia area. The race will start and finish at the center of Ridge Ferry Park near the stage. Enjoy a relaxing, scenic run by the Oostanaula River.

The 1 Mile is open to all ages; however, awards will be geared to the younger participants. 1 Mile Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each of the following age groups:
6 & Under, 7-8, 9-10, & 11-12

Parking will be convenient to the race start/finish. Please plan to follow the parking and registration signs that will be posted.

Post-Race Party
After the race, all runners and fans are cordially invited to celebrate at our 'Family Day' in the park. Beginning at 8:30 a.m. and continuing until 2:00 p.m. join us for games, food, food trucks, community resource fair and entertainment.
