Event Description

Brown County just got more colorful. Get your friends and family stretched out for this amazing event where you'll get blasted with color while raising money for Brown County Schools. With no winners or official times, you can set your own pace, bring your toddler or stroller, and have a fun-filled day with no pressure to compete. Your impact on the kids of Brown County is greater — and your event is more fun — when you fundraise and participate with friends! Create a team, and invite your friends and family to join; or join an existing team. Raise $1,800 (the cost to sponsor a child's preschool tuition for a year) and we'll refund your registration fee! Also, children under 4 can register for free when accompanied by a paying adult.

On the day of the walk, we'll start at the Brown County Music Center parking lot and walk the entirety of the Salt Creek Trail, through town, and end at Hard Truth Hills for an after party celebration featuring live music by a special guest artist! Approximately a two mile route. Shuttle transportation will be available back to the Music Center. Along the walk, you'll be blasted at various stations with vibrant colored powder while experiencing the joy of walking through rainbows. Our powder is made from food grade cornstarch and is engineered to wash out very well.  It is non-toxic, safe, and biodegradable.

So why are we doing all of this? Over the last four years, the BCCF has provided $160,792 in grants for 101 children to attend preschool in Brown County Schools. That means 101 kids will be on good development footing when they enter kindergarten. Long term, these kids will statistically see greater success in diverse areas of their life. They will be more likely to graduate from high school, they are more likely to hold a job, commit fewer crimes, and have higher lifetime earnings. Now, we need your help to fund this program for the spring semester.
