The Stanwood High School Wrestling Teams have a tradition of going on a 5K run together on the morning of Thanksgiving Day. The wrestlers have been joined by family members, friends, community members and four legged friends. For those who were not able to physically participate the idea of supporting the team with financial donations blossomed. This is how this event has grown into their biggest fundraising event of the year. For those that understand wrestling, you know that the sport is guided by each wrestler being paired up with an opponent of similar size and strength, and thus weight, conditioning and nutrition are a big part of the sport. So.... when you put a Thanksgiving Feast in front of a wrestler they have to justify their consumption. And so do the rest of us! Please join our fun run to help you justify your second piece of pumpkin pie and support our local athletes.
