Event Description

The Quillen 100, presented by Ballad Health, is a cycling relay and community health event created by medical students at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. Proceeds from the race will go to Tri-Cities American Heart Association. The race is modeled after the largest collegiate intramural sporting event in the country, the Little 500 at Indiana University. 

The Competitive Relay

The main event will feature a relay with four riders per team. Each team will cycle a total of 100 laps (50 miles) with a required 10 exchanges before finishing the race. 

Teams will be assigned a pole position and pit for the team to exchange riders in based on how much each team has raised for the event (proceeds go to Tri-Cities American Heart Association). Teams that have raised the most money for the event will be placed closest to the starting line in addition to award recognition on the day of the event. Upon registration, teams will be redirected to CrowdRise to register their team for the fundraising competition. 

Each team is REQUIRED to preview the event packet prior to the race. Instructions/event packet will be sent to the team leader and will be accessible from the event website.

The Non-Competitive Relay

Each team will cycle a total of 40 laps (20 miles) with a required 4 exchanges before finishing the race. All riders must ride.

Teams will be assigned a pole position and pit for the team to exchange riders in based on how much each team has raised for the event (proceeds go to Tri-Cities American Heart Association). Teams that have raised the most money for the event will be placed closest to the starting line in addition to award recognition on the day of the event. Kids/Teen Ride

The Quillen 100 will be hosting a FREE "Kids/Teen Ride" and give families the opportunity to watch their children/teen take a few laps around the track before the main races. Children must be age 6+ and able to safely and comfortably ride a bicycle! Children/Teens will be divided into heats based on their age.

Age Range: 6 to 18 years old. Release forms must be signed at the Registration Tent.

Festival on the Infield

Throughout the event (10:00 AM-4:30PM) there will be a community health and food truck festival on the infield. 

Food Trucks will be featured from all over the Tri-Cities area and beyond. 

The Health Fair will feature free blood pressure and blood sugar checks, nutritionist's services and much more!
