Event Description

Sanctioned by USA Track & Field

Fit & Able invites you to be part of the Charity Distance Festival to support many area non-profits that serve our community.

Nonprofits provide important programs and services to our community for the needs not met by the government or other organizations. Unfortunately, they can't all have their own races to help raise support for their missions.

That's why Fit & Able is staging the Charity Distance Festival at no charge to the participating nonprofits to help them raise much needed revenue and provide them the opportunity to raise awareness about their efforts too.

This year we're also adding Conquer the Hill time trial! Can you rise to the challenge of racing the hill at WakeMed Soccer Park? With a staggered start at the bottom you can test yourself against the 400m beast!

So, pick your distance – 1 Mile, 5K, or 8K and add the Hill Challenge! - then invite your friends and family to race with you! Don't forget! If you get 5 friends to join you using the referral link in your confirmation email you'll get an automatic $15 refund on your registration fee!

A few of the participating nonprofit organizations include:

  • Mariposa School (for Children with Autism)
  • Esteamed Coffee
  • Wade Edwards Learning Lab (WELL)
  • 200 Club of Wake County
  • Parkinson's Foundation
  • Soles 4 Souls - Wearing Out Poverty

Soles 4 Souls - Wearing Out Poverty will be collecting shoe donations on race day, so please bring out any new or gently-used shoes with you to help support their mission.

Invite your friends and family to run together!

The Charity Distance Festival is part of Fit & Able's Free-for-All Race Series

Fit & Able Productions is a nonprofit organization that has been supporting community and family fitness in Cary since 1997 through organizing creative events and training programs.  We also support many programs, such as swim safety lessons for at-risk children and adults, youth fitness programs, and health education run by our community partners including the Cary Family YMCA, Triangle Aquatic Center, and Town of Cary.  Proceeds from our events that aren't designated to support other organizations go to support the event and other Fit & Able nonprofit activities.

We can't wait to see you at the Charity Distance Festival!
