Event Description

Join the owners of The Forge Strength GYM Saturday January 25th 2020 for our first annual Resolution of Strength Strongman Championship. The Forged Strength Gym promotes an old school ideology and has a focus on strength sports. We are determined to provide a high quality training and competitive experience. We have partnered with KCSTRONGMAN to ensure our event is run an setup with the competitors in mind.

USS Sanctioned
Top 3 in each class qualifies for the 2020 USS National Championships. Novice winners also qualify.

Weigh-Ins 1/24 10:00am-6:00pm and 1/25 8:30am-9:30am

Event 1: Max Axle Press

  • Wessel Rules (three attempts with rising bar. If you fail any attempt then you are done).
  • Bar will increase in the following method: Add 10s, remove 10s and add 25s, remove 25s and add 35s, remove 35s and add 45s, add 10s and so on.
  • Axle is cleaned from ground and pressed overhead
  • Axle must be controlled overhead with feet parallel
  • Competitor must wait for down command
  • Three attempts
  • If any attempt is missed then you are done
  • Bar cannot go from belt to shoulders
  • Belt, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, grip shirt are allowed

Event 2: Axle Deadlift from ground AMRAP in 60 seconds

  • Axle must be pulled from ground to upright position
  • Competitor must wait for down command
  • Competitor will be scored by total reps done in 60 seconds
  • Straps, Belt, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves are allowed

Event 3: Captains of Crunch Grip for time

  • Competitor will grip the Captains of Crunch griper with either hand
  • They may use both hand to close the griper on the silver bullet
  • Time starts when the silver bullet is being pinched by gripper with one hand
  • Time ends when silver bullet is no longer controlled by gripper
  • Score will be given for longest time held
  • No equipment is allowed for this event other than chalk

Event 4: Sandbag to should AMRAP in 60 seconds

  • Sandbag is lifted from ground to either shoulder
  • Sandbag must be held with control on one shoulder with opposite arm extended outward
  • When sandbag is controlled on shoulder competitor will receive down command
  • Sandbag must be returned to ground completely before next rep is executed
  • Score will be given for most shouldered sandbags in 60 seconds
  • Belt, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, gloves are allowed
