TED CHAMBERLIN RANCH, LOS OLIVOS CA
This December, Trail Racers from around the country will unite at Ted Chamberlin Ranch for the Spartan Trail U.S. Championship, presented by Altra. The ranch has a stunning view of the Santa Ynez Mountains, but don’t let its beauty fool you. You will have to work hard to reach the finish line.
There might not be any steep climbs, but there’s not a flat trail in sight. Rolling hills cover the ranch’s grounds, making for a tough run. Whether you conquer 10K or 21K is up to you. Either way, get ready for a challenge your quads will never forget.

ARRIVAL: BE EARLY
Arrive an hour and a half before your start time. This gives you plenty of time to park, pick up your packet, drop your stuff at the Ultra transition area, and get warmed up.
Ultra Registration opens at 5:00am.
Beast Registration opens at 6:30am.
Sprint Registration opens at 8:00am.

WHAT TO BRING

Towel & extra (dry) clothes

Outside food and drink (racers, fuel for the race is OK), Negative Attitude
WHAT TO WEAR
We recommend dressing in performance gear (NOT COTTON). Think compression tights or shorts and breathable tops made from water wicking material. Wear comfortable shoes that you’ve trained in, but beware, they are going to get dirty.
In addition to your clothes, consider fuel when planning for race day. For a Sprint distance you can normally get away with the water stations on course, but for our longer distances (Super, Beast, Ultra) we strongly suggest wearing a hydration pack and carrying energy gels or Clif bars.
