Event Description

Bearathlon 2019 returns to the Berkeley Marina with beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay.  This year, draft-legal racing will return to our selection of races along with our classic, non-drafting sprint distance race.  Additionally, Bearathlon will be hosting its first ever Mixed Team Relay, which is a thrilling event that combines individual efforts with team spirit. Each team will consist of 4 individuals (2 female, 2 male) and each team member will complete a full super sprint triathlon before tagging off to a teammate, in the order female-male-female-male.  This will be great practice for collegiate teams before Collegiate Nationals.

Event details and schedule

Athletes can register for all three race types if desired, all of which will take place on Sunday, October 20th.  Draft legal races will occur first with women at 7 am and men at 8 am.  Classic Sprint waves will start at 10 am and continue until 11 am.  Finally, the mixed team realy will start at 1 pm.  The swim will take place in the San Francisco Bay (westuit recommended), the bike courses include multiple loops along University Avenue and W Frontage Road towards Emeryville.  The run will take place along the San Francisco Bay Trail.  Packet pickup will be available the day prior to the event and the morning of the event.  Parking information will be updated on the event website.  Contact bearathlon@caltriathlon.com for any additional questions or concerns.
