Event Description

Lydia is a smart, funny, kind, energetic 10 year old whirlwind of a little girl. She loves the outdoors, drawing, books, her friends, her family and, especially, her little brother. We love having her around as she is always willing to help out at our events and she brings a smile to everyone’s face with her humor. Lydia was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the beginning of July and less than a week later she had surgery to get it removed. Unfortunately, due to its location, the whole tumor was unable to be removed. At this time, they also discovered that the tumor was cancerous. Lydia named her tumor Billy and #BeatBilly and #BlasttheBlastoma were born.

Before being officially diagnosed, Lydia was still able to rock at everything she does, even if some things were a little harder. She ran the 5K at her school, Fayetteville Elementary, and came in her first place in her age group!!! We now invite you to participate in our Are YOU Faster Than a Superhero 5K and challenge you to beat Lydia's first place time of 39:59. If she can do it with a brain tumor, so can you!

So come and support the Kilburg family and prove that you can be as fast as a superhero! Dress up in your favorite superhero costume, bring your dog, and come have a blast as we all work together to BLAST THE BLASTOMA

All proceeds from the race will go towards Lydia's family. Brain tumors are expensive and we are working to alleviate some of the financial stress so that her parents can solely focus on helping Lydia through treatment.
