Chick-fil-A of Kingsland presents the 8th Annual Autism Awareness 5K
Chick-fil-A of Kingsland is proud to present the 8th annual Autism Awareness 5k. This year we wanted to continue supporting our local community by teaming up with the Coastal Counseling Center (CCC). Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a family mental health challenge. In working with ASD, CCC recognizes the need for supporting the family as a whole. When looking after a family member with ASD, taking care of one's self is not luxury, but a necessity. Being emotionally strong allows one to best help someone with a mental health illness. Coastal Counseling Center is working hard to promote hope, help, and healing through counseling in a professional, community-based caring environment. CCC works with individuals, couples and families whose financial situation might prevent them from seeking counseling services. They work from a sliding fee scale for those who are uninsured or under-insured. CCC depends heavily on the support of the community so that they can continue to support your family, friends, and neighbors. We will also be awarding two, $1,000.00 scholarships to Camden County Hero Club volunteers. We are very excited about this opportunity to impact our own community directly and we are looking forward to positive results.
