COME DRESSED IN YOUR FAVORITE SUPERHERO COSTUME FOR CHANCES TO WIN A PRIZE!!!
The Super Fun Super Run 5K on October 29, 2016 is a fundraising event to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California and the Sport Psychology Club of Fresno State. This is a 5K Fun Run/Walk around and through Fresno State's campus.
Since 2012, The Sport Psychology Club at Fresno State hosts the Super Fun Super Run 5K each year for two reasons #1 – to raise funds to support the club’s activities and #2 – to raise funds for a charity organization of the students’ choice. Our philosophy is that we cannot ask others to give to us without also giving to others. The funds we raise are split 50/50 between us and the charity. This year, the sport psychology students chose to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California. So come out to support two very worthy causes and don’t forget to dress like a superhero.
The Sport Psychology Club is an official student organization recognized by the Associated Students, Inc. at California State University, Fresno. The Club holds regular meetings in the Sport and Exercise Psychology Lab and participates in a wide range of events aimed at the students’ professional development. With the guidance of Dr. Dawn Lewis, our past events include hosting the annual Sport Performance Mental Skills Training Camp for local high school student-athletes, attending the Association of Applied Sport Psychology national conference, hosting a regional sport psychology conference, participating in local sport and health fairs, and visiting the Olympic Training Center in southern California.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California is a 1-to-1 mentoring service for children who are facing adversity in our community. Mentoring can be as simple as taking a child to the park for a few hours, or sharing a pizza and good conversation. These things don’t take much time, but they create a lasting effect in those children who face poverty, discrimination or indifference on a daily basis. BBBS are currently serving 4 counties in the Central Valley which totaled to over 1,000 children in 2015. They received the National Gold Standard Award for their top performance as an agency and are continuing to grow throughout the valley.

Place: Fresno State Campus, South Gym (near Barstow & Cedar)
Cost: Preregistration on Active.com $20.00 + 3.95 service charge; Onsite Registration $30.00 (checks and cash only)
Run/Walk Start: 8:00 AM
Check in & Registration: 6:30 am until run/walk start
Course Info: 5K on pavement (2 lap course on Fresno State campus)
Parking info: Parking available in Green Lot P20 (Barstow near Cedar)
What to Bring: A great attitude and openness to fun.
What to Wear: YOUR BEST SUPERHERO OUTFIT!!!
