Event Description
We can't think of a better way to get into the Holiday spirit than running around a parking lot with friends in our best (worst?) ugly sweater gear!
Join us on Sunday, December 12th for Fleet Feet's 2nd ever Ugly Sweater 5K (un-timed) Fun Run. Now is the time to get creative and start thinking about putting together your best ugly sweater outfits because there will be prizes for those with the best holiday spirit.
The cost of this event is $12.25 (see what we did there?) per person and each registered participant will receive an Ugly Sweater custom bib as well as a hand made finisher's medal. There will be cider donuts, apple cider & coffee after the run.
Registration is online only - there will be no in-store sign-ups for this event. Space is limited, don't wait to sign up and miss out! This event will likely sell out.
Runners & walkers of all paces are encouraged including first time 5K'ers. The run will take place in the South Hills Malls parking lot. The run course is open to traffic and due to safety concerns this event is not suitable for dogs or very small children. We will allow strollers if you are comfortable with the risk of the roads being open to traffic and willing to start in the back to let the pack spread out at the start. If you are bringing a stroller you must allow ample space between you and the runners or walkers in front of you. The use of headphones is strongly discouraged and we promise that you won't need them anyway!
This is the pre-run email
This is a no-fuss event and there won't be a long email with any additional details aside from what is here. Bib pickup will be on the morning of the event from 8:15am-8:45am, there won't be any advanced bib pickup. The start and finish line will be up near the new At Home store (old Kmart) so runners can either park over there or near Fleet Feet and walk over. Runners should be lined up a few minutes before 9am under the giant Fleet Feet arch (you won't be able to miss it) for a group photo and we will start the run right after that. We will have 2 porta potties near the start/finish line for runner use before/after the event. The donuts & cider will be set-up outside Fleet Feet starting at 9:30am and the store will be open for shopping anytime after that. Once again, this run is untimed and is just for fun. You will however need to have your bib displayed to collect your finisher's medal after the run. Best costume prizes will be announced at 10am ish right outside of Fleet Feet. This fun run will count for in-person credit for any Winter Warriors who chose to do this event instead of meeting at the Walkway Over the Hudson, although that run will still take place and count as well.

Is there a minimum age to participate?
The route is open to traffic and this course is therefore not suitable for small children. Please use your best judgement when registering minors for this event.
Do you have a course map?
The fun run course is basically 2 loops around the South Hills Mall parking lot. If you are looking for more information beyond that, this event probably isn't for you ;)
Is there a wait list if the event sells out?
We will not have a wait list for this event. We have only enough bibs and medals as open registration spots and those who register but cannot attend will still get their goodies if they want them.
I signed up but can't attend, can I transfer my registration?
Yes! Since this is an un-timed fun run you can have someone use your name to pick up your bib and run in your place. If they are buying the spot from you, you would handle the economics of that on your end, we don't resell spaces.
