Event Description

The Grand Prix is Richmond Road Runners Club's free running competition for RRRC members that encourages and rewards speed, participation and volunteerism. This is an wonderful way to keep your motivation up throughout the year, and rewards you at the end for completing the challenge. For 2019, 290 RRRC members signed up for the Grand Prix competition.

This program rewards you for activities that you are already doing -- running and volunteering. Generally, to become a Grand Prix Finalist, you must run in 5 club races, volunteer at 1 club race, and volunteer at the finish line of 1 contract race. The number of races required varies for our Grand Master runners.

You must be a RRRC member to compete in the Grand Prix.

The 2020 Grand Prix year is December 31, 2019 to December 30, 2020, but you must Sign Up to be a Grand Prix competitor by February 16, 2020 to earn points to become a 2020 Grand Prix Finalist.

Recognition of all 2020 Grand Prix Finalists will occur at RRRC's annual banquet in March 2021. By completing the program, you are considered a Finalist: you will receive a free invitation to the banquet for you and you will receive a high quality gift. At the banquet, awards will be bestowed on top Grand Prix competitors (overall and by age group).
