Event Description
Enjoy running in downtown Lynchburg and experience the beautiful Blackwater Creek bikeway. This event is the 1st event of the 2020 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series and proceeds support LifeNet Health. Both walkers and runners are welcome.
Start/Finish:
Jefferson Street near Amazement Square. Race day activities at the The Depot Grille, 10 9th Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504.
Course:
Out and back on Jefferson Street, Point of Honor Trail, and Cabel Street loop in front of the historic Point of Honor museum.
REGISTRATION:
$25 (December 1, 2019 - March 8, 2020) || $27 (March 9 - March 22, 2020) || $30 (March 23 - April 3, 2020) || $35 (Race Day Sat. April 4, 2020)
Registration fees are non-transferable & non-refundable. An entry can only be used for the person registered for the entry. Entries cannot be deferred to the following year or a future event.
Lynchburg Road Runners Club Member Discount: A $5.00 discount is available to current Lynchburg Road Runners Club members. Discounts will not be given after March 8th. Participant membership must be current with LRRC membership roster found on RunSignUp. Discount will be given at checkout automatically. Refunds and discounts will not be given after completing online race registration.
Please note: A LRRC discount is valid only for participants whose membership is current on race day (4/4/2020). Assisted Participants:
We are pleased to provide an opportunity for assisted participants to enjoy race day. An assisted participant is typically being pushed in a stroller "appropriate" for the event (ie..hand brake, tether, appropriate wheels). Both the participant being pushed and the pusher are required to register for this event. Assisted participants will start prior to the 5K start and be ranked separately from the 5k event. Both the pusher and assisted participant should indicate this classification during the registration process for our planning purposes.
Team Competition:
Team registration will close on Friday April 3, 2020 at 6:00 PM. Total number of team members is unlimited. Top 4 on each team score. Ranking will be based on cumulative time of scoring team members. Top team receives award. An individual may only compete on one team. During online registration participants should select that they are on an team and then select/enter their team name.
AGE GROUPS:
12 & under, 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & Over. Age Group ranking based on "chip" time.
AWARDS:
Top 3 Overall M/F; Top Masters (40+) M/F; Top Grand Masters (50+) M/F; Top Senior Grand Masters (60+) M/F; Top 3 M/F in each age group; Top Team. Overall awards ranked on "gun" time / Age group results ranked on "chip" time.
*This is a Chip timed event, Disposable MyLaps Race Bib Technology will be used.
RACE T-SHIRTS:
Moisture-wicking t-shirts are gender specific and guaranteed to those registered by March 22, 2020. A limited amount of extra shirts are ordered after this deadline and available on a first-come basis at packet pickup.
