Event Description
Come In Your Best Cancer Color Outfit!!!! See If You Can Win The Most Colorful Costume Contest!!!!
Rusty Melle and his wife Kelly (ITG Realty) started Coloring the Causeway years ago, after we lost Rusty's mother to Colon Cancer. We thought it would be a wonderful way to honor her fight and help locals and their families in their fight. Every year we work in conjunction with the Florida Marathon, our walkers to dress in the cancer awareness color of their choice or in rain bow colors, like i do to show all the colors of cancer. We have two wonderful organizations who benefit from our walk; Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation & SCREW Cancer (Surviving Cancer Requires Eternal Will)
About Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation: The Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation provides financial support to qualified adult cancer patients in Brevard County for expenses such as rent or mortgage, car payments and utility bills. By giving patients peace of mind in knowing that their bills are being paid while they are undergoing treatment, the FCS Foundation allows them to concentrate on what really matters – fighting cancer. Due to the generosity of the Florida Cancer Specialists partner physicians in covering all overhead expenses for the Foundation, 100% of donations received go directly towards paying the essential non-medical living expenses of an adult battling cancer.
About S.C.R.E.W. Cancer
SCREW Cancer's goal is to promote awareness through a bold statement and to provide financial backing to those organizations that are committed to research, care, emotional, and financial support. This year SCREW Cancer will be helping two local families.Visit www.screwcancer.com
