Event Description

Pre-paid t-shirts not available past 4/14

Jack's Angels "Run the Rocks!" is our second annual running event located at the beautiful and unique Vasquez Rocks Natural Area and County Park at the heart of Agua Dulce, CA.  Enjoy trail running at it's most beautiful at this historic landmark scene of movie sets and real-life bandits, as well as guided hikes and wildlife presentations after your run or walk.  If you can't be there, no problem!  You can run/walk "Virtual Relay for Jack" from anywhere, on your time between April 30th and May 17!  (www.CureDIPG.info)

THIS IS A TRAIL RACE of moderate difficulty for the 5k and 10k run.  For a training run or goal race of 10k*, 5k*, 5k walk, kids 1k race, or 20k Relay for Jack, you're in it for a great cause: funding research for pediatric brain cancer, and celebrating the National DIPG Awareness Resolution, initiated by our very own Congressman Steve Knight! 5k and 10k runs are part of Trail Runner Magazine's "Trophy Series" and include a $100 prize each for first place winners.

Did you know that pediatric brain cancer is one of the least-funded areas of research, even though it's the leading cause of death in kids with cancer?  You can be confident in knowing that proceeds from this event support cutting edge research for pediatric brain cancer with Jack's Angels.  For more information about the projects we support, visit our event page at www.runtherocks.info, or our main site at jacksangels.org.

DIRECTIONS

Vasquez Rocks County Park is easy to get to, and is at the heart of rural suburban Los Angeles, nestled in gorgeous countryside with friendly folks in a real, small-town setting.  From the I-5 North, take the 14 North through Newhall and exit Agua Dulce Canyon Rd.  The park is about 4 miles west from that point, and about .4 mi from the Stop sign on the right.  From highway 14 South, take Escondido Canyon Rd. (Right) toward Agua Dulce, and the Park will be about a mile down on your left before the stop sign.  If you go west at the stop sign, you'll enter the quaint "downtown" Agua Dulce.
