Event Description

Vike Hike half marathon starts runners on the Poteau campus of Carl Albert State College (CASC) and leads them onto the northbound lanes of the Poteau Scenic Bypass, which will be closed to traffic. And yes, there are ups and downs on the bypss. Runners will turn around near the north exit into town (Wal-Mart exit) and return. The course isn't that plain though. Runners will then run the 5k portion which includes the infamous "Chuck's Hill", followed by a descent down Country Club Road and then back to campus. The half begins at 7am with a four hour time limit.

Vike Hike 5k starts on the Poteau campus of CASC and takes runners on a beautiful up and down through some neighborhoods and back to the front of campus. The 5k begins at 9am with a two hour time limit.

Vike BRICK - Runners may sign up for the BRICK option. They will begin the half at 7am and need to be back on campus before 9am to get their chip changed out and ready to start the 5k at 9am. If a runner does not make the 9am start time, they may still change out their chip and begin the race at whatever time, however, they must be aware that the recorded 5k time starts at 9am.

All proceeds from this event benefit future CASC students through scholarships.
