“ Our "zero waste" race 5k will take place on May 16th at 7:30 am in scenic downtown Venice featuring a 2 loop course on a scenic canopy tree-lined road.
The race will start and finish at Daquiri deck and Centennial Park featuring a post-race party with a beer garden, food (including vegan options), music and awards.
Our main goal is to raise awareness in the running community (and non-running community) regarding being more environmentally responsible.
This means no single-use water bottles, plastic goodie bags (or other items that just end up in the landfill) and the water stop on the course will be supplied with compostable cups that will be collected and taken to a compost facility in St. Pete.
We need our own composting facility (long term goal)! You will receive a souvenir silicone finisher cup when you cross the finish line which you can then fill with water from our monster water cooler or beer from the beer garden.
Your race shirts will be made from a combination of rPET (the type of plastic that can be recycled and provides a market for recycled plastic) and sustainably grown organic cotton.
There will be a bin to drop off your race bib as they will be reused and/or recycled.
Please take advantage of the compost bins (unused food waste) and the compostables bin for your used compostable cups/plates/napkins as we will take those to the composting facility in St. Pete.
The majority of our proceeds will be donated to a local environmental charity/non-profit which we will annually rotate.
This year we have chosen Reef Rovers, a local beach and underwater clean up nonprofit. If you want to learn more about environmental waste please visit our website www.enviroracing.com

Overall M/F & Masters Winners
Just about all race bibs produced today are made from Tyvek, produced by DuPont. And Tyvek is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), otherwise known as #2 plastic. And #2 plastic is one of the most commonly recycled materials.
We would like to collect the bibs at the end of the race so we will have a bin for that.
If you want to keep your bib for the memory that's OK.
No refunds and no Dogs on the course.
