Event Description
The granddaddy of them all is back for its 36th year. The TriDeltathon, the oldest running pool triathlon in the country, will again follow the regular swim/bike/run format as the past several years. As always, a 400 meter INDOOR pool swim (see swim format below) will be followed by a 6 mile tour of the UT campus & Neyland Drive, capped off by a 3 mile campus run, passing Neyland Stadium and Thompson Boling Arena. Overall, age group, & relay division awards, as well as special student pricing available. Soft cotton shirts for men. Back for 2020--NEXT LEVEL tank option for women. The TriDeltathon is NOT a USAT sanctioned event. Volunteer support, as usual, is provided by the ladies of Delta Delta Delta sorority, with proceeds going to East TN Children’s Hospital. Expected participation--350 RACE START TIME -- 8:30
Swim format--Swimmers will enter the water one at a time, at ~7 second intervals, and will swim each 50 meter lane (8) by ducking under the rope at the end of each length, crossing over to the next lane. Swimmers are seeded (fastest to slowest) by estimated 400 meter swim time.
