Event Description

The 1st annual Shamrocked 5K and Leprechaun Chase takes place on a scenic, point-to-point course during the month of March, when the weather is starting to warm up, making it perfect for a challenging trail run.  You are more than welcome to walk the course as well. The course winds through picturesque woods, with several small hills and excellent cross country terrain. The event also includes live music, a race t-shirt, a race medal, a post race snack and the option to register as a group at a discounted race. You are welcome to dress in your favorite St. Patty's Day attire, as a leprechaun, or decked out in all green. And, for those of you who are competitive, race timing will be provided.
 
All proceeds will benefit Guardian Christian Academy's brand new GCA Sports Complex, to allow the community to enjoy all that the sports complex has to offer!

Shamrocked 5K event details are as follows:

Race registration and t-shirt sizes/additional t-shirt orders are due by February 1, 2020.

Packet pick-up will be available on Thursday March 5th and Friday March 6th from 8am to 8pm and Saturday March 7th from 6 am to 8 am at Guardian Christian Academy (GCA) Sports Complex, located at 6851 Courthouse Road Chesterfield, VA 23832.  Race organizer and packet pick-up point of contact is Kelly Hooks, Athletic Events Coordinator for GCA.  Please bring your ID and your signed waiver to packet pick-up, along with your average mile time to be provided for wave placement.  

Parking is free on race day on site at 6851 Courthouse Road Chesterfield, VA 23832. 

ALL ARE WELCOME, RUNNERS AND WALKERS!!

Race starts promptly at 9:00 am, in waves determined by your average mile times, beginning with the Leprechaun Chase.  Children ages 3-12 will be able to chase the Leprechaun to the pot of gold!  Following the Leprechaun Chase, the 5K will begin with a stacked start, based on provided average mile times.  Racers can arrive as early as 6:00 am. 

Please wear anything "Shamrocked" or St. Patty's Day themed.  Water will be provided at the start and completion of the race, along with a post race snack and a medal for each race participant.  Remember to have fun and enjoy this beautiful cross country trail course at our 1st Annual Shamrocked 5K and Leprechaun Chase!
