Start Point:
Drew University, 36 Madison Ave. (Route 124) MadisonNJ  07940. You can also hop a NJ Transit train to Convent Station, Madison or Morristown Stations and cycle over.

Rides for all abilities. Scenic historic routes, rest stops and refreshments. Post-ride food and Expo.  A great chance to tour our area's incredible history … to show that bicycles belong— for recreation, transportation and health… and to raise money for cycling safety education and the local volunteer emergency squads vital to riders and our community.

Organized by the Morris Area Freewheelers Foundation. Supported by local cycle shops and other area merchants.

The Morris Area Freewheelers Bike Club provides over 150 volunteers each year supporting the Revolutionary Ramble. We recommend you join your local bike club to train for the Ramble. If you're in Northwest New Jersey, the Morris Area Freewheelers (www.mafw.org) has mapped over 600 cycling routes and conducts 1400 rides each year.

12-mile Family & Casual Tour

For newer cyclists and families this tour takes you on bike paths and local roads. A stop is planned along the way for an optional tour of St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center. You’ll ride in a small group led by experienced Freewheeler cyclists. No training wheels or children’s trikes. Trailers OK.

25-mile tour

This tour will provide a ride with flat to rolling terrain, with a few climbs (approximately 1,000 feet of elevation gain) and will explore the Great Swamp. You’ll enjoy a mid-tour rest stop.

45-mile tour

This tour will have approximately 2,500 feet of climbing and 3 rest stops along the way, including Jockey Hollow where the Continental Army spent the worst winter of the Revolution. This route might also include a bailout for those looking for a 35-mile ride.

70-mile tour

For more experienced riders, this tour offers between 4,000 and 4,500 feet of climbing and 4 opportunities to refuel at a rest stop along the way, including Jockey Hollow.

100-mile tour

For experienced and fit riders, you’ll enjoy a challenging ride with plenty of rest stops. You’ll have more hills than other rides offer (between 6,000 and 6,500 feet of climbing), and a scenic ride through the Long Valley area.

The Ramble is back with another offering for experienced "gravel" riders! The tour features some of the best dirt roads that New Jersey horse country has to offer and is best suited for bikes with 28mm tires (or wider) and will feature some loose/irregular surfaces on the dirt/gravel sections, including on descents.
