It’s So Much More than a 5k…
As we all face unprecedented times, we come together to support the care of patients in our hospitals. And we continue to look at ways for healthy families to stay at home – stay healthy and connected.
The need to support the Heaven’s Hummingbird support group for infant loss is still great. In fact, currently grieving families need to be supported even more during these tough times.

We want to continue the efforts to support these families, both emotionally and monetarily. Donations from this 5k walk/run support their efforts for the next year.
StartLine Racing has been a health care partner of Dignity Health since the beginning. We always operate our races in a safe and professional manner. We will offer a “Virtual Race” just the same way. This means for those who already registered, your shirt and medal will be mailed to you at the address you provided during registration. If you need to make changes to your address or have any questions please let us know. For anyone who intended to sign-up to participate, we can still sign up runners/walkers and send a commemoration medal (up to 300 participants). We hope families will consider running or walking in a safe location near your home for at least a mile, or going outside on May 2nd in honor of these families we all support.

All packets will be sent out the week of May 4th. Should your personal circumstances warrant, contact us to return your donation payment. This is definitely uncharted territory for our family-business and for so many people and institutions in our country. The support that you have sent our business personally during this time, has been amazing and more appreciated than you can possibly know. We also greatly appreciate your support for our charity partner, Dignity Health Foundation and their Heaven’s Hummingbirds support group for infant bereavement.

Kick-off the month of May with the 6th Annual Dignity Health Family Remembrance Run on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Freestone Park in Gilbert. The event has a distance for everyone, including a 5K Run/Walk, Family 1 Mile, and 100 Yard Kids' Dash. Invite your family, friends and colleagues to honor the lives of infants who have passed on before us and support their families.
Proceeds from the 2020 Family 5K will benefit the mission of a dedicated group of families seeking to provide empathy called the "Heaven's Hummingbirds". These bereaved parents, dedicated field experts and Dignity Health team members created a Perinatal Bereavement Support Group to empower and heal families in the East Valley who have suffered the loss of a baby. The funds will be used to offer support groups and supportive services during their grief journey by building a bridge from hospital to home.
