Event Description
The Vac & Dash Groundhog Day 2.2-Mile Classic is the first race in the Vac & Dash February Trifecta Series. For an entry fee of $60.00, you can register for the Vac & Dash Groundhog Day 2.2-Mile Classic on February 2nd, Vac & Dash Red Carpet 5K Run on February 9 and Vac & Dash Leap Year Day 2.9-miles on February 28th. Vac & Dash, creator of the 10-10-10 10.0-Mile Run, 1-11-11 11.0-Mile Run and the 12-12-12 12.0-Mile Run has come up with their most unique event yet. We are pleased to announce that we will host the Vac & Dash 2.2-Mile Groundhog Day Classic on February 2, 2020.

Registration is $22.22 until January 15. $25.00 until February 1. $30.00 race day.
Packet Pick-up will be Friday January 31st at Vac & Dash from 12:00- 6:00. Saturday 9:00 - 2:00. Race Day Registration will begin at 1:15 pm behind the Stanly County Family YMCA on Depot Street. The race will start at the corner of Depot Street and Franklin. Please park in the lower parking lot at the YMCA.
The course will be the 2-Mile Tuesday Finale Course with the addition of .2-miles at the turnaround point. Start at the corner of Depot and Franklin. Run down Depot Street to Salisbury Road. Left on Salisbury, left on the Greenway on US 52. Follow the greenway until you get to the tree line behind the little league field. You will turn around and reverse course. When you get to the Carolina Thread Trail at the fence line, turn right. The finish line will be at the ramp on the greenway.
Runners get a Long Sleeve T-shirt.
Set your personal best in this 2.2-mile (3.54 kilometer) classic. The race is limited to 100 Runners.
The race will start at the Stanly County Family YMCA, run downtown to Main Street. After taking a right on Main, you will turn right on the Greenway, you will then take a right on Main, and a right on the Greenway then a right on Salisbury AVe. Take a right on the Carolina Thread Trail Greenway to finish at the ramp behind Storm Technologies.
