Event Description

Start out your running season with the Sap Run 5K on the first day of New York State’s Maple Weekend.  Run or walk the 5K course in the beautiful Hilltown of Knox in the Helderberg Mountains. 

Medals for top overall male and female winner. plus top three winners male and female: ages 12 & under, 13-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.  You must stay for the awards ceremony to get your medal.  Top overall winners receive a medal and a pint of local maple syrup.

After the race, you can refuel at a local Pancake Breakfast in Berne (just 6 minutes away), and then head up the road to Mountain Winds Farm and Bittersweet Maple for a free maple syrup production tour and an opportunity to buy their delicious maple syrup and candy products.

The Sap Run 5K is the annual fundraiser for Helderberg Hilltowns Association, whose mission is to promote and support local farms, small businesses, organizations and recreational opportunities in the Albany County Hilltowns of Berne, Knox, Rensselaerville and Westerlo.  Your support is very much appreciated.

Event details and schedule

Sap Run 5K start time is 10 am.  Doors will open for registration and sign-in at 9 am.
