Event Description
In the United States, someone has a heart attack every 40 seconds. The Heart Breaker 5K/10k, presented by Confluence Health, is a fun run during Heart Month to raise awareness about heart disease and about ways to commit to a healthy lifestyle. The out-and-back route on the Apple Capital Loop Trail is pefect for runners and walkers. Stay after the run and visit local heart-healthy vendors inside Pybus Market for information about how to prevent heart disease and stroke.
Description: 5k route: Starts at Pybus Public Market to Walla Walla Point Park and back. 10k Route: Starts at Pybus Market to Confluence State Park on the Apple Capital Loop Trail and back.
Start time: 9 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020
Start line: Pybus Public Market, 7 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee
Finish line: Pybus Public Market, 7 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee
Packet pick-up times: 4-6 pm, Friday, Feb 21, at Pybus Market, and 7 to 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, at Pybus Public Market, 7 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee.
In-person registration: 7 to 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, at Pybus Public Market, 7 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee.
Essentials: The 5k and 10k will each have one aid station with water. Course is out-and-back.
Timing and results: This event will be timed by BuDu Racing. Results will be posted at buduracing.com and runwenatchee.com, and on social media, shortly after the event.
Premiums: Each paid registrant (by 2/21/2020) will receive a commemorative Heart Breaker T-Shirt, supporting Heart Disease Awareness and Prevention. For those that register after 2/21/2020, shirts will be first-come, first-serve.
Awards: The top three male and female finishers overall in each distance receive an award.
