Event Description

Come out and run or walk in the IN THEIR SHOES 10K presented by Phil Hughes Honda.  The new location is at the Loran Smith Cancer Support Center in Athens GA.  The race will be benefiting the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support.  The Loran Smith Center provides support to cancer patients and their families before, during, and after treatment. All services such as workshops, counseling, exercise and art therapy classes are free thanks to the generosity of people like you!

Registration fee is $45 for everyone after 3/13/20, so register early for discounts.

Early Registration and Packet Pickup: Early Registration and Packet Pickup: Thursday 3/19 from 4PM to 7PM at Phil Hughes Honda, 3200 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA 30606 and Friday 3/20 from 2PM to 6PM at Loran Smith Center, 240 Talmadge Dr., Athens, GA 30606.

Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup: Begins at 6:30AM

7:30 am Cancer Survivor Recognition Ceremony

10K: Starts at 8:00AM

Awards: Ceremony begins at 9:30AM.  Awards for the top male and female and overall Masters Male and Female finishers.  Age Group awards will be 3 deep in standard age groups beginning with 10 and under to 75 and over.

Timing and Results: Finish line management and results provided by Classic Race Services with results posted to,,

Shirts and Goodies:  Shirts are guaranteed to those who register by 3/13/20.  Those who register after that date and on race day are not guaranteed a shirt or size.  There will be plenty of refreshments.  The In Their Shoes Block Party starts at 9AM and goes to 11AM.

Series Affiliation: The race is part of the 2020 Black Bag Race Series.

Other Info: In case of rain, the races will go on.  Delay of the start may happen in case of severe weather in the area at race time.  If severe weather continues, then the race director or local authorities may make the call to cancel the race at that time.  Sorry, no refunds.
